Shiroki is used in NIINAME-SAI ceremony, a harvest ceremony.
Since the first NIINAME-SAI following the Enthronement of EMPEROR MEIJI,

KamedaShuzo makes the special sake for MEIJI SHRINE.

KamedaShuzo has history of 250 years and won many domestic & oversea competition prizes.

Sake of KamedaShuzo is also served in special events for Royal families.

What is Kagami-Biraki?

Kagami-Biraki is traditional Japanese ceremony held at celebratory events.

With a call such as “hii, fuu, mii”(1.2.3. in Japanese) the attendance with a wooden mallet on a stage break the lid of SAKE barrel. SAKE in the barrel is served to everyone present. Kagami refers to the lid of SAKE barrel. Biraki refers to opening. It literally means “opening the lid.” Because of the lid’s round shape, the kagami is a symbol of harmony. The kagami-biraki, therefore, represents an opening to harmony and good fortune.
